well, hello there <3 i'm julie, a vertically-challenged insomniac who is obsessed with a fairly long list of things. these things may include, but are not limited to doctor who, torchwood, firefly, star trek, and many things tolkien (meaning, yes, the hobbit and the lotr but also the rest of the legendarium, and roverandom and the like as wel ). also spiders, inverts and other beautiful creatures of all sorts. um. so basically, look for those things on this blog, as well as a bunch of other random stuff that isn't on the list. thanks, love you, don't hesitate to drop something in my ask!

update: my computer is freaking the hell out, so leithian is going to have to wait until at least tomorrow, because I’m sleepy and don’t have the patience to deal with this right now asldfkjlasfkjlaskdfja I’m very very sorry. merry christmas, friends, to those who don’t mind being wished one, and a lovely 25th of december regardless of religious or cultural practice to those who would rather not touch that whole christmas thing. by the end of the day (in my timezone) I will have the audio of Canto 3.1 of Leithian posted for you, because that’s the only thing I can think to do for you lovely people.

That, and also I wanted to let you all know how much I appreciate you and peace and goodwill and all that jazz. In a serious way, though - I’m not being sarcastic, I just don’t have the words to say what I mean. But I have a feeling that you all understand anyway.

Yes ma’am. During winter our weather likes to do this thing where it snows one day and be back up in the 60s (F) the next week, so I don’t suspect i will last very long, but at least it’s here.

but hey! It’s a snowy christmas eve here in Denver, so I guess that counts for something.

You know Christmas is not about having a good time. It’s about having uncomfortable conversations you don’t wanna have with people you don’t wanna talk to in places you don’t wanna be at. That’s the reason for the season.

unfortunately, yes, a lot of people hate on poor frodo DD: there’s a lot of ‘frodo’s just a whiny butt who can’t do anything and sam did all the work and frodo sux anyone else would have been a better ringbearer’ sentiment floating around, and it bothers me deeply. Sam certainly deserves credit for being a loyal friend - but he was a terrible ringbearer, and he had it for less than a day. frodo truly was the only one who could have carried out such a task, and he did it with such bravery and nobility that frodo-hate just alfjsaldfkjaslfkjd bugs me so much
